Permanent, natural-looking beard and eyebrow transplant at Mister Hair, Bangalore. Surgeon-led DHI for a fuller beard, defined brows and seamless density. Book a free consult.
A patchy beard or thin brows can throw off the balance of an otherwise good-looking face. A facial-hair transplant takes follicles from the back of your scalp and places them precisely along the beard or brow line — for permanent, your-own-hair density.
The same FUE-based hair transplant techniques used for the scalp can be applied to the beard and brows — with much finer artistic planning. Donor follicles are extracted from the back of the scalp (or, in selected cases, the chest or beard itself) and implanted into the beard area or eyebrow ridge using the DHI / Sapphire technique.
Because every facial hair follows a specific angle and direction, the result depends as much on the surgeon’s eye as on the technique. At Mister Hair, your transplant is always designed and performed by a qualified surgeon.
Whether your beard never filled out, has patchy areas, or has been thinned by scars or burns — a beard transplant uses scalp follicles to recreate a fuller, denser beard that grows naturally and can be styled, shaved or trimmed like any other facial hair.
Each follicle is implanted directly into the beard area using a Choi implanter pen. This gives the surgeon precise control over angle, depth and direction — critical for a beard that looks like it grew naturally.
Sapphire-tipped blades create fine recipient channels along the beard line. Useful for larger restorations or where heavier density is needed across the cheeks and chin.
Typical graft count: 1,000–3,500 grafts depending on the area (moustache, chin, cheeks, jawline, sideburns).
Over-plucked, thin or scarred eyebrows can be restored permanently with a fine transplant. Single follicles are placed at a near-flat angle along the brow ridge, following the natural direction of brow hair growth.
This is the most artistic of all hair-restoration procedures — and it is always done by a surgeon at Mister Hair, never delegated.
Typical graft count: 200–400 grafts per brow.
You may be a good candidate if you:
It is usually not the right step if hormonal causes (such as a recent change in androgens) are still being investigated, or if the donor area is too sparse to give a good aesthetic outcome. We tell you honestly.
A facial-hair transplant is a single-day procedure under local anaesthesia. A beard transplant typically takes 4–7 hours; an eyebrow transplant 2–4 hours.
You stay awake throughout and can eat, listen to music or use your phone. Discomfort during the procedure is minimal once the local anaesthesia is in.
Tiny scabs form along the beard line or brow over the next 5–7 days and shed naturally. Most people are back to normal social life within a week, though the donor area is the only part that’s truly hidden.
Transplanted hair sheds at 2–4 weeks (the follicle stays — this is normal). New growth begins around month 3, with visible density by month 6, and the final result around month 12.

Performed by qualified surgeons in a sterile clinic, facial-hair transplants have an excellent safety record. Minor swelling, redness and tenderness for a few days are normal. Serious complications are rare and minimised by careful patient selection, sterile technique and a clear aftercare plan.

It depends on the area: a moustache typically needs 350–500 grafts, sideburns 200–300, and a full beard restoration 2,500–3,500. Your surgeon will recommend the right count after looking at your existing density and the look you want.
Most eyebrow restorations use between 200 and 400 grafts per brow, depending on existing density and the shape you want. Each follicle is placed individually at the correct angle for a natural look.
Yes — the transplanted follicles come from genetically resistant donor areas at the back of the scalp, and continue to grow for life. You can shave, trim, dye or style them like any other facial hair.
Yes — since the follicles originally came from the scalp, the transplanted hair retains some scalp-hair characteristics and will need a quick trim every 2–3 weeks. Most patients consider this a small price for permanent, real-hair brows.
It is virtually painless once local anaesthesia is administered. You stay awake throughout. Mild tenderness and minor swelling in the days that follow are normal and well-managed with prescribed medication.
Usually after 10–14 days for trimming and after 4 weeks for a full shave, on your surgeon's advice. Heavy razor use and harsh products are avoided in the early healing period.
